General feedback:

Most students in this test showed a need to revise the meanings of key words. In the real exam you will have to give very specific and exact answers to gain the marks this means you must be sure of the definitions given to you in lessons. This will enable you to gain maximum marks from the simple, short answer questions.

Virtually all students showed they did not understand how to answer a discuss question. Generally, when asked to discuss you must make short, succinct points. You should also make direct comparisons e.g. A laser printer is usually found in office environments and isnt suited to dirty workshop environments like a dot matrix printer.

A surprising number of you showed a need to improve exam technique (again!). The worst offenders wrote one word when a description was necessary, others simply failed to read the question. This is something that must improve!

To improve:

1.       You need to look up the uses of different methods of storage so you are able to state which device is best suited to a given application.

2.       You need to be able to accurately discuss the differences, advantages and disadvantages of the various types of printer. Although you got a few points across, you should look at the structure of your answer and ensure you are making direct comparisons..
